7 Most Unhealthy Processed Foods You Need To Avoid according to Katy Leonard

Processed foods have the advantage of saving time and this makes them tempting to people who have a busy lifestyle and for those who don’t particularly like to cook. Most processed foods also come with a low price tag that is hard for many consumers to resist. However, at some point we really need to look at the hidden costs that processed foods have on our health.

Eliminating all processed foods from your diet may be quite difficult. However, you can significantly improve your healthy by eliminating the worst of the processed foods. Below, you will find a list of the 7 most unhealthy processed foods.
So here are the worst enemies of current society:
Chicken Nuggets – Like hot dogs, chicken nuggets are at the pinnacle of industrialized foods. The typical chicken nugget, including the famous chicken McNuggets, are more than 50 percent fat and they contain more carbs than protein. Keep in mind too, that the carb portion is made of very unhealthy carbs found in the fillers and breading.

Soda Pop – There is nothing nutritional about sodas; they are empty calories. They contain substances that can hurt you. Almost all sodas today use high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) as a sweetener and this is even worse than sugar. HFCS has been shown to be damaging to the liver as well as causing blood glucose spikes even worse than normal table sugar would. Soda pop is a primary contributor to the obesity problem in the United States.

Hotdogs  & Other Processed Meats – The vast majority of hot dogs and other highly processed meats on the market contain loads of salt, MSG, sodium nitrate and other preservatives, artificial flavors, cheap unhealthy fillers, and mechanically separated meat and poultry.

Store Bought Cookies, Cake, Muffins, and Crackers – Beyond the obvious high levels of sugar and salt, most of these products also contain trans fat. Trans fat is added in part because it is much cheaper than healthy fats and this makes them more profitable. However, trans fat is also added to prolong shelf life and to improve the texture.

Many Popular Breakfast Cereals – Do you want to know why so many breakfast cereals are “fortified” with vitamins and minerals. Fortified means that the vitamins are artificially added during the processing of the food. It’s no better than taking a crunchy vitamin, and in fact, usually a low quality vitamin. For example, these fortified cereals often add a form of vitamin D that is not easily used by the human body.
Most breakfast cereals are also loaded with sugar, or worse, high fructose corn syrup

Granola Bars – Regardless of what you see on the front of the packaging or hear in the commercials, almost every brand of granola bar contains high fructose corn syrup. Even if they say they are made with honey or maple syrup, read the ingredient label. Some will put a tiny bit of honey or maple syrup for flavor but most of the sweetness is still derived from high fructose corn syrup. They are also sometimes loaded with fat, including trans fat, and lots of sodium too!

Pre-Made Condiments and Salad Dressings – Most condiments and salad dressings contain high fructose corn syrup as this is a really cheap way food manufacturers can add bulk to their product and improve the flavor with very little cost. Many also contain trans fats and food additives like MSG. Another factor that makes them so unhealthy is that we tend to not think about what’s in condiments when we apply them to our food. Even a healthy fresh vegetable salad can quickly become an unhealthy meal if an unhealthy dressing is added.

I know that I'm not the ideal person to talk about it, because I eat chocolate or crisps. I don't do it every day, but occasionally I will reach to unhealthy snacks. I wouldn't eat any of that typo of food and I have to say thank God I don't. I used to buy a hot-dog sausages that I would have during the weekend. And long time ago I stopped buying them when I found out what's inside. I mean we cannot get crazy, because we won't be able to eat anything. but we need to make sure to read the labels.
Hope I didn't disgusted you.

Lots of love

Kate Moss- not that perfect anymore

Hi All,

I found recently Kate Moss pictures from her holiday with her hubby Jamie Hince. She is being slagged by the media that she doesn't look like a top model any more. Also she's being blamed for the word she said that became a motto for all the girls who were dieting "Nothing tastes as good as skinny". Everybody know that models world is not about glam and fun. It's a hard work and yeah we heard many stories about girls starving themselves. But we need to know that Kate didn't make them to starve, every girls has a brain and knows that if you want to stay in a tip top shape you have to exercise and eat healthy.

I bet Kate regrets saying those words now, but you now what, she is still on top. She has good and bad days like everybody has, but the point is she can still bounce back and she always end up on top.

What do you think about that? Did you ever diet to look like a model?

I can say that I look at some of them and I'm thinking, damn this is not fair. But I'm moving my butt and I'm going to Bikram yoga and I'm saying no to another chocolate yogurt. Our life is about the balance. We can eat what we want, but we need to stay active

A little trip to the Library in the Trinity College

The Trinity College Library, located at Trinity CollegeDublin, is the largest library in Ireland. As a "copyright library", it has legal deposit rights for material published in the Republic of Ireland; it is also the only Irish library to hold such rights for the United Kingdom.
The library is also the permanent home to the famous Book of Kells. Two of the four volumes are on public display, one opened to a major decorated page and the other to a typical page of text. The volumes and pages shown are regularly changed.
The library began with the founding of Trinity College in 1592. In 1661, Henry Jones presented it with the Book of Kells, its most famous manuscript.James Ussher (1625–56), Archbishop of Armagh, whose most important works were "Veterum Epistolarum Hibernicarum Sylloge", published in 1632, and "Brittanicarum Ecclesiarum Antiquitates", which appeared in 1639, left his valuable library, comprising several thousand printed books and manuscripts, to Trinity College, Dublin, and his complete works were published by that institution in twenty-four volumes.
The main chamber of the old library, the Long Room, was built between 1712 and 1732 and houses the library's oldest books. By the 1850's the room needed to be expanded as the shelves were filled, and so the roof was raised to accommodate an upper gallery.
In 1801, the library was given legal deposit rights, making it the only Irish library to have such rights for the United Kingdom.

Living in Dublin since 2005 this place was on my list. I always wanted to see it. I've seen pictures from the inside and it looked impressive. So both with my husband we decided it's time to go, no more excuses  It's so close and it cost 8 euro to visit it.

I found some pictures of the old pictures of the Library; see below:

This is how it currently looks like

I have to say that the Library itself looks impressive. It's very big and the amount of the old books on the shelves....... It feels like you are in the Harry Potter movie. The only disappointment for me was no access to the upper level. I always want to go where I'm not allowed too:-( Any way here are some snaps from the inside.

The place is amazing and I couldn't waste such an opportunity for doing a pictures:-) I prepared for you a look for a sightseeing in style:-) Hope you will like it

On the way out from the complex we've noticed that there was a wedding there. You know me..I couldn't resist. Check out those cool cars....

Hope you are enjoying your Sunday. I'm back to my diy. Will catch up with you later on this day. Now I'm becoming girly Bob the Builder:-)

Kisses

7 Beauty Mistakes That Make You Look Old

Hiya Girls,

Today I have for you some information about the make up we all love. I bet it happened to you once in your life (at least), when you left your house all happy and proudly walking...Until you passed that first shop, and you made few steps back to check out yourself and say- what the hell I have on my face. Brrrr I've been there wondering was I blind putting my make up on, or was I that sleepy that I didn't notice the amount of the bronzer I've put on. Ah well, as I always say shit happens. We need to make sure that we will never ever make those mistakes again.

Here are some tips how not to overdo our make up:

1. Too much Foundation

Putting on a thick layer of foundation is obvious to anyone who spends a few moments looking at your face. Instead, try to be minimal with your use of foundation or use a tinted moisturizer instead. The more skin people can see and the less makeup the better. Use it to enhance your well-taken-care-of skin, not cover it up.

2. Too much concealer under the eyes

Dark circles under the eyes are a bane of beauty for both men and women. Getting more sleep and adjusting your diet can help make these look better, but oftentimes women rely on concealer to help their eyes look more youthful. But as you get older, the skin under the eye becomes thinner. This means you need to apply light amounts of concealer and only where there are darker areas. Otherwise the thick cover-up will not look good at all.

3. Poor hairstyle choice

Your hairstyle can be a huge boost to your beauty, or an unfortunate detriment to your beauty. As you get older and want to continue looking young, a long and flat hair style will not work as well as it did in your youth. Long, flat hair exaggerates the look of a droopier, older face without bringing out the good in your face.

4. Too much stress

In our busy and hectic lives, people build up a great deal of stress throughout the week. It’s a serious beauty mistake to have lots of stress on your shoulders and not do anything about it. Skin suffers when the body and mind are under stress, and no amount of beauty tips or make-up can undo the damage caused by stress. Find a healthy way to reduce stress and keep yourself looking as beautiful as you can.

5. Hair abuse

When you get your hair colored or have it go through curlers or other processes, you’re doing damage to it over time. This is especially true when it is done on a weekly basis. Fried and dried hair looks as far from youthful and beautiful as a toad is from handsome. Cut back on the hair salon trips and dye jobs, you’ll save money and your hair.

6. Shinier eye shadow

Shiny and shimmering eye shadow might look great and be popular but it’s going to show signs of aging more than other forms of eye shadow. The area where you apply eye shadow lacks oil glands and that means the eyes are the area to show aging first. Creases and cracks in the skin will be exemplified with the use of shinier eye shadow as opposed to matte colors.

7. Adding makeup to the lower eye and lashes

As you get older, to make yourself look younger you need to stop using mascara and eyeliner on the lower area of your eye. This only brings attention to the dark circles and other effects of aging instead of making your eyes look more beautiful. Also, keep the eyeliner off the lower part of the eye, it does the same.

Have a lovely day

Pharrell and Cara- photo session

Cara Delevingne gets close to the insanely talented Pharrell Williams in Vogue's September issue.

"David Bailey's faces and sounds - he makes some pretty wild faces," said Pharrell of working with the legendary photographer. "He's a genius, but that's his work isn't it?" Who is a genius in here? Pharrell is a wonderful artist. I love the collaborations he did. I think the one I love the most is  "Beautiful! with Snoop Dog:

Oh I love that tune!!!!!!!!!!

Any way here is the photo shoot:

What do you think. I really like those pictures. I can tell you that the time has stopped for Pharrell, he's not getting older. There's something about his eyes. When he smiles he looks like he's in heaven.

Love that photo shoot. What about you?

Hope you are having a nice sunday

Chic Eats: Fashion Recipes

When I saw an article in UK VOGUE "Chic Eats: Fashion Recipes" I was so excited to see what people eat. I'm such a foodie with  my husband. We both like to cook, but I have to say he is more adventurous than I. He is not afraid to use spices:-)
So for all my foodies here is a little bit of heaven:

Helena Christensen: Tuna Pasta

"I like making pasta, it's a total cliché, but even if you don't have anything in the cupboard at home you can still make a decent plate of food. A can of tuna, some garlic, a can of tomatoes and some pasta and you have a delicious dish. Maybe add a little basil and lemon, a chopped onion and parmigiana and you're good to go."

Jourdan Dunn: Cantonese Duck

"It's really hard to choose one recipe – but if you were coming over tonight and I had to throw something together quickly I’d probably do a Cantonese duck recipe. If you don’t have much time, you can buy a shop-made marinade, but they’re nicer if you make your own and it’s really easy. Marinade it - for as long as you can, but half an hour or 20 mins will do. Then pan fry it for about three minutes on each side and then into the oven for 15 mins."

Karlie Kloss: Chocolate-Chip Banana Bread

Ingredients
- 2 cups of gluten-free all-purpose baking flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp xanthan gum
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup rapeseed oil
- 2/3 cup agave nectar
- 2/3 cup almond milk
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 3 bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup walnuts
- 2 cups dark-chocolate mini chips

Method:
Preheat oven to 165C/325F/gas mark 3. Lightly grease a 16cm by 11cm by 10cm loaf tin.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, xanthan gum, salt and cinnamon. Add the oil, agave nectar, almond milk and vanilla to the dry ingredients, and stir until smooth.
Using a plastic spatula, gently fold in the bananas, chocolate chips and walnuts.
Pour the batter in the pan. It should fill it halfway.
Bake on the centre rack of the oven for 35 minutes, rotating after 20 minutes. When you press on the loaf and it bounces back slightly, or a toothpick comes out clean, it is ready.

Is she for real? She's so damn skinny and she gives us such a sweet receipt? That sounds delicious. Might have to try it.

Edie Campbell: Aubergine Pasta

“I’ve been working my way through Nigel Slater’s recipe book – the man is a genius. I quite fancy taking six months out to make a cookery book actually. My favourite food is Italian or anything with aubergine in it – such an underestimated vegetable. My signature dish is probably pasta with tomato sauce, aubergine and garlic.”

Simple but sounds delicious. In my house garlic and onion is a must have.

They are the ones I really like, so if you want to read more you can find them in here

Have a lovely Friday

Why Did H&M Drop Cara Delevingne?

Grazia Daily is reporting that H&M is distancing itself from It model Cara Delevingne who's fronted H&M campaigns in the past, as well as walked in H&M's first runway show. The decision comes after a photo (see below) of Delevingne surfaced last month showing the model dropping a white plastic packet of powder (allegedly drugs) in front of her home. The brand has a notoriously hardline policy when it comes to drugs, even firing the seemingly untouchable Kate Moss from its roster during her own cocaine scandal. After the paparazzi incident, H&M told The Daily Mail they'd be reviewing Delevingne's story: "We have a zero tolerance policy towards drugs, and this also forms part of our advertising policy. Our team will evaluate the evidence over the next few days. If the story is true, then we will take action."

Picture: google images

A spokesperson from H&M seemed to confirm to The Sun that a decision was reached. "She is not a model with us and I think there was a misunderstanding that she was the face of H&M. We just used her for the show." They also mentioned that there was "no particular reason" to use Delevingne in the future as well.

Hmm it was never confirmed that it was a drug in that tiny bag, but she has to remember that she got to the top very quickly and she can be at the bottom pretty quickly too. Hope she learnt her lesson and she will be a "good girl" from now on. She's been compared to Kate Moss; well I think that's a bit too much; but if I were her I would be flattered. Kate is such an icon

So what do you think about Cara?

Searching for that perfect wooden floor & not the best lunch in Italian Restaurant:-(

Hiya All,

I've had quite a busy week and weekend so apologises for not posting anything.

I have for you few pictures I did a while ago. We were  looking for that perfect wooden floor to our house. All I can tell you- they are damn pricey! We found few that we liked but the price was a way too high. So we end up with nothing. Any way that weekend was not so great, we end up in Italian restaurant which happen to be a disaster (never had that awful food) On the good side, that time we had lovely weather.

As you can see now I tend to wear comfy clothes for shopping. I know there's no wow factor, but simple clothes look good too:-) And they are so good when you have to run around the builders store (I'm always the only girl).

That was a little treat, it cheered us up a bit

I think this is my first selfie.

Ahhh Italian food is delicious but that starter only looked so nice:-(

I was wearing: Denim jacket (second hand), Primark necklace & bracelets, Asos sunglasses, ZARA top and shorts, Marc Jacobs bag, H&M belt and New Look sandals.

Hope you've had a great weekend.

Dressed in a short sleeve printed T-shirt and gilt choker, Beyonce shared another snap showing her pixie cut from the front - slightly combed back and parted the side, complete with dark roots.
Beyonce has been a diehard weave wearer for years - and will no doubt have thought long and hard about taking this new direction.
