House inspiration
Modern Shabby
Chic is my latest crush and
my house inspiration. I mentioned several times that together with my husband
we're planning to extend the house. We're not even close to doing that yet, but I truly believe it will
happen soon. I'm trying to find some inspirations or rather dreaming
about my future house. There are so many different types of furniture
now, that you can really get crazy. I always liked modern style, but deep down
I've always been a fan of older pieces. I love the way you can combine them
together achieving shabby chic. So what is shabby chic? I found a perfect
description of that style on wikipedia: "Shabby Chic is a form of
interior design where furniture and furnishings are either
chosen for their appearance of age and signs of wear and tear or where
new items are distressed to achieve
the appearance of an antique. At the same time a soft opulent yet
cottage-style decor often with an affected feel is emphasized to
differentiate it from genuine period decor"
Modern shabby
chic, this is how I call them, are subtle yet in crisp colours, clean
lines, decorated with distressed pieces of furniture that give to each
room a character. Although they are so different, they live in perfect
harmony. Both pretty and comfy, they make the house look warm and lived in.
Here are my inspirations:
What are your inspirations?

New rugs:-)
Hi All,
Lately I've added
to my collection two new rugs:-)
A while ago I
wrote how to paint a rug; here is the link to the
first post.
I used again IKEA ERSLEV rugs.
Decorating my
house is so enjoyable, all the little things are putting a smile on my face. My
bedroom is far from being finished, I don't even have a bed side locker:-( But
first things first! I decided that it's time to paint another rug to bring
some colour to the room. Plus it's so nice and warm when you get up
in the morning, and your feet are not on the cold floor. Any way all you need
to do is follow the steps from my earlier post.
I prefer to use the brushes instead of the
roller, but many girls use rollers and they seems to do a good job too. I think
once you try to paint a rug, you will know after a while what do you prefer to
use. I recon you should have a roller and a brush prepared for painting.
Don't mind the mess around it but this is
how my first rug looks, I left it overnight to dry. Make sure that you won't
walk on it, because it needs to dry properly.
This time I used
grey spray paint that I bought in ALDI (it was €3,99, the cheapest paint I have ever seen). It did a good job. It's so much quicker to paint the
rug that way, but it smells so badly. Without a mask don't even start! The down
side is that you need a lot of cans to receive good results.
Here is the second one:-) I’m so happy
with the result. I didn't have enough yellow paint, so I mixed three old
paints: white, yellow and orange.
Here they are:-)
Don't mind the horrible bed side locker, this is a temporary solution.
Hope you like them as much as I do:-)

Leather shorts in action!!!
Hiya Girls,
It's still cold outside. It's hard to believe that we've had snow for the last few days. Well there's nothing left, but it doesn't look like the winter is gone for good. Many of you are the same as me- we just wanna spring to come. Let's start with our wardrobes!!!
I'm heading this week to do some shopping with my parents and my sister. Can't wait to see them. I didn't see them since last year, so you can imagine what is going to be like:-) Girls running around every shop and discussing every detail. Wooohoo cannot wait to see them!! Shops here we come. Well I feel a bit sorry for my Dad, because he'll have to carry most of the bags:-p
So, to get ready for the spring, here is an outfit idea for you :-)

P.S.Maybe it will encourage you to come to Ireland next year? ;)
